Reverend Lance McCune
Subsequent to his thirty-year tenure as a pastor, he engaged with the Fort Worth, Texas, police department in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 events. During the numerous hours he spent accompanying patrol officers, he facilitated the development and coordination of effective systems to assist government agencies in collaborating with corporate executives, faith-based organizations, and religious leaders to foster strong and resilient communities. This subsequently broadened to encompass emergency management, instructing other municipalities and government representatives in faith-based community policing, and disseminating the model to adjacent businesses for the advantage of their communities and, ultimately, the nation as a whole.
Due to his experience and familiarity with these systems, Rev. McCune was appointed volunteer coordinator and later faith-based coordinator for his city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas. He was employed at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) following Hurricanes Katrina (Category 5, August 2005), Rita (Category 5, September 2005), Gustav (Category 4, August 2008), and Ike (Category 4, September 2008). He established Clergy & Police Alliance LLC and was appointed the faith-based coordinator for the 2011 Super Bowl. He and his spouse are the co-authors of the law enforcement training manual, Strategic Community Policing.
Rev. McCune has collaborated with the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORTHCOM). He collaborated for numerous years with municipal authorities, corporations, and faith-based entities. He served as an active member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HASAC), Faith-Based Committee, facilitating collaboration between the federal government and faith-based organizations.
Rev. McCune travels the country giving speeches, providing training and coaching, and articulating his vision for collaboration between government agencies and faith-based organizations to foster secure, resilient communities and a strong nation. He instructs corporations, universities, and faith-based organizations in this practice.
